Si en el último comentario que hice me referí al sello Motown, hoy me apetece hablar un poco de la mítica Atlantic Records (en la actualidad absorbida por la multinacional Warner Music), pues me acabo de enterar de que hace unos días ha muerto, a la edad de 83 años, el turco Ahmet Ertegun, que fundó dicha discográfica hace casi sesenta años, apoyando de forma decidida y contracorriente la “música negra” y lanzando a la fama o consolidando a grandes intérpretes de jazz, soul, rock, pop, etc.
A menudo centramos nuestra atención en los músicos, y no en el resto de personas que contribuyen a que estos tengan una carrera y a veces alcancen la gloria. Para tratar de enmendar este injusto olvido, he seleccionado unos cuantos vídeos de artistas a los que Ertegun, que al parecer se metió en el mundillo para hacer los discos que a él le gustaría comprar, quiso producir.
